What is this all about?
We all have a passion to tell stories. No matter the medium, you’re here because something inside you is driven to write, to direct or to act. We’re here to help you. Just because covid is a factor, doesn’t mean the chance to bring your story to life is dead. While there are a number of table read groups already out there, The Rising is a space for underrepresented minority artists - URM -, BIPOC, POC, Disabled and LGBTQIA creators.

All rights to performed works remain with the authors. This workshop provides a platform, the experience of casting, rehearsing and collaborating to create the final product. Each person who submits a script to be performed will be read; each director submitting a reel to direct will be viewed. One person is chosen at the start of the month and the performance will be the last Saturday afternoon at the end of the month. Actors, writers & directors must commit to at least one rehearsal. Final performances and Q&A will be hosted on YouTube and will be provided to participants per request.
